Everton won’t be making Armando Broja’s loan deal permanent and the Albanian striker will return to parent club Chelsea at the end of the season, according to Football Insider.
Broja has endured a nightmare loan spell at Goodison Park, which has been hindered by constant injury struggles. He’s only made eight Premier League appearances, and while he recently returned from an ankle injury, he hasn’t been able to win David Moyes over.
The 23-year-old started the season sidelined with an Achilles tendon issue he picked up during pre-season, which scuppered a move to Ipswich Town.
He instead joined Everton, but he looks set to return to Stamford Bridge, where he can expect to be put in the shop window again.

Everton are set to rebuild Moyes’ squad this summer, and a new striker could be on the cards, especially if Broja leaves as expected.
The Toffees had a £30 million option to make the loan permanent, but the Merseyside outfit won’t take this up.
Broja has been unable to replicate the form that earned rave reviews during a loan spell at Southampton in the 2021-22 season where his 6-foot-3-inch frame caused Premier League defenders all sorts of problems.
Football Talent Scout’s Jacek Kulig spoke about how ‘dangerous’ the target man was when he arrived at St Mary’s.
The Slough-born striker is now tasked with trying to either persuade Moyes and the Toffees to perform a U-turn over their decision or catch Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca’s eye with a strong finish to the season.
He was surprisingly selected in the starting XI for the Merseyside outfit’s clash with Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
Moyes touched on this (via Everton’s X account):
“I have to try to get a look at the players who we have. I’ve not had a chance to see Broja play and I felt this was the right opportunity to give them a chance to play.”

If Broja does return to Chelsea, he’d face an uphill battle breaking into Maresca’s team, given the likelihood of a new prolific striker joining the West London giants.
He’s been with the club since his early youth days after starting at rivals Tottenham Hotspur, but he’s made just 38 senior appearances at Stamford Bridge.
