Jannik Sinner and his team weren’t wasting any time celebrating his Wimbledon triumph as the world No. 1 revealed during the Champions Dinner that he had been “drinking quite a lot” following his big day.

After suffering the most heartbreaking and devastating loss of his career to Carlos Alcaraz in the French Open final, Sinner met the same rival in the Wimbledon title match and it didn’t start well for the Italian since he dropped the first set.

However, the 23-year-old showed great mental and impressively took the next three sets to complete a 4-6 6-4 6-4 6-4 comeback victory.

A few hours after lifting his maiden maiden title at The Championships and overall his fourth Grand Slam, Sinner attended the traditional Champions Dinner, where he was joined by Iga Swiatek and the two shared a dance.

Sinner: We were drinking quite a lot…

“Have you digested anything yet? It’s been only a few hours since you were on the court.

What it’s been like?” the interviewer asked the reigning Wimbledon men’s champion.

The 23-year-old funnily responded: “Digested? I don’t know. We were drinking quite a lot (laughter). A bit turning the head but it’s all good,.. It’s very, very special to have my family here and the whole team, it’s a very special evening, so, you know, seeing also Iga here with the family and the whole team… It’s amazing.”

Considering what happened a month earlier, Sinner and his team definitely had all the reasons to celebrate hard the triumph at The All England Club.

After blowing a two-set lead and three consecutive championship points in the French Open final, some wondered how long it would take for the Italian to mentally recover.

His response was swift.

Sinner will now turn his focus to the upcoming North American hard-court swing, where he will try to defend his US Open title and finish 2025 with five Grand Slams in his collection.
