The 2025 French Open, which will be held from May 25 to June 8 on the clay courts of Stade Roland Garros, will be the 124th edition of the year’s second Grand Slam.

How many players will make up the main draw?

The French Open men’s singles main draw features 128 players, including 104 direct entrants, eight wildcards and 16 qualifiers.

Who has received wildcards?

Five of the eight wildcards have been given to French players: Richard Gasquet, Pierre-Hugues Herbert, Arthur Cazaux, Terence Atmane and Valentin Royer. Gasquet is playing the final tournament of his career at Roland Garros.

The other wildcards have been awarded to Stan Wawrinka, Emilio Nava and Tristan Schoolkate.

Chinese stars Zhang Zhizhen and Shang Juncheng have withdrawn due to injuries.

Have any players used a protected ranking to enter?

Players who have been unable to compete in any tournaments due to injury for a minimum of six months are eligible to use the ATP protected ranking system.

The protected ranking will be determined by the player’s average ranking position during the first three months of their injury. They can use the protected ranking to enter nine tournaments and for a period of nine months from the first event they play after returning.

Reilly Opelka, Jenson Brooksby, Sebastian Ofner and Emil Ruusuvuori have each used a protected ranking to enter.
