Last season, at the second time of asking, Daniel Farke successfully guided Leeds back to the Premier League, winning the Championship with a tally of 100 points.

Now, the German is looking to buck the recent trend of newly-promoted sides making an immediate return to the second tier.

The Whites have been active in the transfer window, signing defenders Gabriel Gudmundsson, Jaka Bijol and Sebastiaan Bornauw, midfielders Sean Longstaff and Anton Stach and forward Lukas Nmecha, with their latest addition being goalkeeper Lucas Perri, formerly of Lyon in France.

It would seem that Leeds are aiming to conduct further business before the transfer deadline. Now, it appears that the West Yorkshire side are looking to secure the services of an exciting attacking talent.

Sky Sports have reported that Leeds are willing to pay £28 million plus add-ons to Feyenoord for Igor Paixao, who enjoyed a brilliant year for the Dutch club last season, notching 30 Eredivisie goal contributions.

Paixao is also of interest to Marseille, though reports have suggested that the French side may struggle to meet Feyenoord’s demands.

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Leeds are “pushing” for Paixao, the Whites having earmarked the winger as one of their key targets this summer, shown by their long-held interest in the player.

As he has displayed in the Netherlands, Paixao is a lethal attacking threat, one who is entirely capable of changing a game on his own.

Paixao would undoubtedly be a brilliant signing for Leeds if they are able to reach an agreement with Feyenoord, as they look to cement their place within the English top flight once again.
