Celtic have already got their eyes on their next transfer target for the summer, according to reports – with Rapid Vienna winger Isak Jansson in their sights as the Hoops look to progress as a club once again after taking home a domestic double.

The Hoops have already been incredibly busy this window, with their main acquisition being fan favourite Kieran Tierney, who returns after a six-year hiatus from the club on a free transfer from Arsenal. Furthermore, they’ve secured the first-team signings of right-winger Benjamin Nygren from Danish outfit Nordsjaelland after a 15-goal campaign in Denmark, and young Japanese star Hayato Inamura.

However, with more money to spend in the market, that could see them land Jansson as their marquee signing.

The report by Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph states that Celtic have made an enquiry to Vienna for Jansson as they aim to replace Como-bound Nicolas Kuhn.

The Hoops, who also signed Kuhn from the Austrian giants, enjoyed his one-and-a-half-year stay in Glasgow as he netted 24 goals and registered 18 assists in just 69 games for the club – including a brace against German outfit RB Leipzig in the Champions League group stage, and a huge equaliser away at Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich back in February.

However, they have now sourced Jansson as his replacement on a conveyor belt from the Austrian outfit, and it’s understood that Vienna would be looking for a fee in the region of £10million to entice them to sell the ‘unstoppable’ 23-year-old.

Brendan Rodgers’ side aren’t alone in their bid to land the star, who Joseph understands to also be on the radar of a number of top clubs in Europe’s top five leagues, and so they may face serious competition in their bid to sign the Swedish star.

Jansson came through the youth system at Kalmar in his homeland, impressing enough to sign for Spanish second-tier side Cartagena – and some impressive cameos in Spain led to a move to Rapid Vienna.

However, this season saw him massively impress in Austria for his breakthrough season in football, notching nine goals in 33 games last season to help them to the Europa Conference League quarter-finals, as well as winning the play-offs for the Conference League again, where they saw off LASK Linz in a bid to repeat last season’s continental heroics.
