There was a brief buzz around Potter’s first game – an excellent first half performance in a harsh defeat at Villa following two big injuries.

Hammers fans were given a very rare treat in what has been a dismal season-and-a-half when they won at Arsenal too.

But taking West Ham from 13th to 17th with just three wins in 15 games tells its own story.

With the Hammers board insisting PSR is a major issue impacting a much-needed summer rebuild, Potter might just be questioning why he ended his 20-month hiatus from football to take Julen Lopetegui’s place.

It showed after West Ham’s pathetic collapse in the 3-2 defeat as the mild-mannered Englishman lost his rag for the first time as Hammers boss.

It came after striker Niclas Fullkrug launched into an explosive West Ham rant after Potter’s side threw away a 1-0 lead to draw with already relegated Southampton the week before.

Niclas Fullkrug also claimed half the Hammers team aren’t listening to Potter’s tactics.

The striker doubled down after the Brighton surrender as Fullkrug issued a warning to Potter about ‘the truth’ on social media.

Captain Jarrod Bowen and Tomas Soucek have both echoed Fullkrug’s sentiments about the team’s mentality – although stopped short of calling West Ham “s—” like the German.

West Ham’s struggles, which are nothing new having won only 13 of their last 53 Premier League matches under three different managers, have seen Potter’s future called into question.

Some Hammers fans have already seen enough and want the 49-year-old replaced.

The majority believe he should not be judged until next season when he has his own team in place.

Simon Jordan is never shy in coming forward with his opinion.

The former Palace owner also stated he feels Potter’s reputation is greater than his deeds.

Now the talkSPORT pundit has given his latest verdict on the Hammers boss.

And Jordan has made a stunning claim about ‘weak’ Potter’s standing in a bad West Ham dressing room.

In a lengthy assessment of the current situation at the London Stadium, Jordan predicts Potter will be sacked 10 games into next season if he doesn’t turn things around at West Ham.

The pundit did say Potter is capable of getting his teams playing good football, as his time at Brighton proved.

Jordan also stated Potter needs to be given that opportunity next season.

However, Jordan believes he knows what is at the heart of West Ham’s problems – a bad dressing room that ‘weak’ Potter does not have control of.

“If you’re (Fullkrug) delivering it into the media it’s not because you’re some wonderful human being that’s imparting wisdom to the fans because you feel so connected to them after 13 games,” Jordan said after saying he believes Potter is a ‘weak’ manager and proved as much at Chelsea.

“It is because you have a strong view and you’re doing it for reasons that might not be for the best interests of either the manager or the group of players.

“He probably was right in what he said about the group…

“If you’ve got a manager that’s having players speak about the circumstances in that way, you probably haven’t got control of the situation.

And that is also exhibited by Fullkrug being able to say what he wanted to say in the manner that he wanted to say it…

“I think his reputation is greater than his deeds…

“Whether the dressing room is right (is the key) and I get the feeling the dressing room at West Ham is a long way from right.”

Interestingly Roy Keane said exactly the same thing recently, saying: “West Ham look a difficult group to manage.”

The only way to fix that will be an overhaul in the summer.

And because getting rid of one man instead of several, it means Potter’s future will always be in question while he’s not getting results.
